Joburg Market is inviting unemployed South African citizens residing within the City of Johannesburg to participate in the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) for 2025. This programme provides an opportunity for individuals to gain experience and contribute to various operational functions across different departments at Joburg Market.
- Marketing Assistant
- Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate
- Duties: Assist in performing various marketing administrative functions, supporting marketing platforms, and managing marketing branding equipment.
- HR / Human Resources Assistant
- Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate
- Duties: Assist with HR administrative tasks and document filing.
- Property Assistant
- Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate
- Duties: Assist with various property-related functions.
- Maintenance Assistant
- Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate
- Duties: Stop and search delivery trucks to verify delivery notes against consignments, direct trucks when needed, and assist with maintenance tasks.
- Food Bank Assistant
- Requirements: Grade 10 Certificate
- Duties: Assist in packaging fresh produce and general cleaning duties within the food bank.
- General Worker
- Requirements: Grade 10 Certificate
- Duties: Perform cleaning duties on platforms, compactor, rocker bins, floors, and JM surface area, and manage waste bins in accordance with health and safety standards.
- General Office Cleaner
- Requirements: Grade 10 Certificate
- Duties: Clean offices, kitchens, floors, stairs, and bathrooms. Replenish bathroom supplies and kitchen refreshments.
- Platform Wardens (Security)
- Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate
- Duties: Conduct routine security and public safety patrols, control access and exit of pedestrians and vehicles, and enforce Joburg Market's by-laws.
- Consignment Gate Controller
- Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate
- Duties: Perform general maintenance tasks, including unblocking toilets and sewer lines, installing lights, fixing plugs, painting, and other repairs.
- Duration: 12 months (January 2025 - December 2025)
- Stipend: R5,000.00 per month
- Location: Joburg Market, Johannesburg, South Africa
- Preference: Preference will be given to applicants who have never participated in an EPWP programme.
